The client is a multilateral investment bank, with over 4,500 users operating across more than 50 countries. The bank is on a journey of global expansion, requiring a technology foundation that can scale with its ambitions.

Challenge

The client’s estate was made up of ageing infrastructure that was no longer fit for purpose and was out of support. As such, the team was facing frequent failures and P1 incidents, creating an unstable environment which was impacting user experience. Its legacy firewall and security infrastructure were unable to protect the organisation from modern cyber threats and with inconsistent security standards across regions, the team couldn’t be confident that they were fully protected.

There was no standardisation across the client’s global offices, business hubs and satellite offices, creating an unreliable network performance and poor user experience. The lack of standardisation created difficulty scaling operations, making branch expansions and closures challenging.

The existing support model lacked global coverage and 24/7 monitoring, relying heavily on UK-based teams and reactive troubleshooting. Managing multiple vendors and legacy systems was resource-heavy, with limited automation and visibility, and excessive manual effort spent on troubleshooting.

With a focus on sustainability and efficiency, the client wanted to ensure where possible that IT support was delivered by in-region resources.

Solution

Natilik designed and delivered a comprehensive global network refresh across 34 sites, two data centres, and the client’s London HQ. The solution combined best-of-breed technologies to create a secure, scalable, and centrally managed infrastructure.

At the heart of the solution was Palo Alto’s Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) architecture, made up of Prisma SD-WAN for automated, consistent site-to-site connectivity and Prisma Access for secure internet access and threat protection. Strata Cloud Manager provided unified management, while Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), DNS Security, and WildFire Malware Protection ensured robust security across all environments.

Natilik led the end-to-end design, deployment, and management of the solution. It was wrapped in Natilik’s dedicated managed services offering, including onsite engineers, access to a 24/7×365 Technical Support Team, and a dedicated Service Delivery Manager overseeing operations. This ensures the solution is covered by continuous monitoring, incident management, and proactive support.

Outcome

The client now benefits from a modern, cloud-based infrastructure that delivers secure, seamless connectivity to over 4,500 users across more than 50 countries.

With a unified platform and centralised visibility, the IT team can manage, automate, and scale operations with confidence. Users enjoy consistent, high-performance access to applications and services, whether working remotely or in-office.

A Zero Trust architecture ensures standardised security across all regions, with continuous verification and centralised control. Simplified vendor management has reduced manual effort, and enhanced visibility frees up the IT team to focus on strategic initiatives.

With Natilik’s dedicated managed service acting as an extension of the client’s team and the focus on leveraging in-region resources for ongoing support, the bank is now equipped with a future-ready platform that supports its sustainability and ESG priorities.
