On Thursday 18th April, Cisco revealed plans to reimagine security with the launch of its revolutionary new security architecture Cisco HyperShield.

In response to the new AI hyper-trend changing the way we imagine deploying enterprise applications and altering the requirements on IT infrastructure, Cisco has announced the launch of its new security architecture, designed to anticipate, detect, and neutralise threats with unprecedented speed and accuracy.

With the adoption of AI based digital assistants such as Chat GPT, Google Gemini across all aspects of people’s lives, Cisco identified the need to shift from reactive to proactive cybersecurity strategies. The way modern applications are currently deployed creates operational efficiency challenges with issues such as completing rapid vulnerability patching, updates to future software versions with limited change windows and managing static micro-segmentation.

Cisco HyperShield has been created to solve these issues, enabling patching in minutes, dynamic micro segmentation based on application behaviour rather than statically assigned and zero downtime upgrades that don’t require change windows via inline upgrades. Built with AI in mind, HyperShield allows businesses to achieve security outcomes beyond what has been possible with humans alone and will empower businesses to stay ahead of evolving threats in today’s dynamic digital landscape.

We will be sitting down with Natilik’s Security Solutions Director, Rob Eldridge and Multi-Cloud Solutions Director, Matyáš Prokop next week to get their take on this exciting announcement.
