We put Cisco’s newest device to the test.
Here’s what our Collaboration Solutions Director really thinks.

I’ve always felt you have to see and use Cisco’s Desk Pro to really understand its true value. It’s definitely a case of ‘seeing is believing’. The Desk Pro is Cisco’s flagship device for desks and smaller shared spaces, where you can collaborate, co-create, and annotate on an interactive, touch re-direct, 4K-touch display. We are often asked by clients, “Is it a nice-to-have?” and “Does it have a reassuringly expensive price tag?”

But here’s the thing, unless you’ve used one every day, as part of hybrid work, or in a focused, or smaller shared space, you won’t necessarily understand the full value it can bring. What I’ve always liked about the Desk Pro, whether it’s being used in MTR mode for Teams, as a native experience for Zoom or for Webex Meetings, is that it brings more inclusivity into interactions for the people using it. You’ve got the best possible user experience, with its 27-inch touch screen display, great quality audio and video, sharing of content at your fingertips, as well as being able to whiteboard on the fly. In fact, when you’re using it on a day-to-day basis, the technology becomes invisible, which is kind of what you want. I often take this amazing experience for granted, particularly when combined with decent in-meeting room AI capabilities such as Cisco Cross View or Cloud capabilities such as IntelliFrame, which are designed to create ‘distance zero’.

Here at Natilik, we are big users of Cisco’s Desk devices, whether at home, in a huddle or shared space. Nearly everyone I speak to says they couldn’t live without them; they make their interactions more pleasant and immersive. We see the same response from clients, particularly when seeded as part of a trial or proof of value.

Introducing the New Generation of Desk Pro

Cisco has just announced the Desk Pro G2, and here at Natilik, we’ve had the privilege of using the new and improved version over the last couple of months. When we received the test unit, it was hard to imagine how Cisco would improve on the great experience they already had, but they have and here’s what we’ve found:

Powerful New Architecture
Whilst the new Desk Pro looks similar on the outside, it’s completely different inside. First of all, it has a newer main processor and GPU that offer over double the power of the old model. It comes with a new NVIDIA chipset, designed to support future AI capabilities. Plus, there’s native support for the Microsoft Device Ecosystem Platform, which cements Cisco’s commitment to continue to support clients using Microsoft Teams natively for their meetings.

Refined Design and Enhanced Stylus Experience
Aesthetics are a key part of meeting space design, and the G2 variant now gives you the ‘Carbon Black’ option. There’s also a new ‘slimmed-down’ version of the stylus, which is easier to hold and makes whiteboarding less clunky. It’s an active stylus with additional buttons that enable capabilities such as ‘eraser’ at the touch of a button. Personally, I find whiteboarding easier and more responsive than the ‘chunkier’ pen on the original Desk Pro. The screen also feels brighter than before.

Upgraded Camera System for Better Collaboration
It’s now got two cameras, one of which is a wide-angle lens with 105 degrees of view. The new cameras support a higher quality remote video experience, and I’ve been on several meetings where people have said so! The wide-angle lens increases the device’s relevance for smaller huddle spaces, and you can comfortably support up to 3 people around it, with remote participants seeing everything that’s going on. I think many clients will see it as a smaller ‘Board Pro’ wall-mounted in smaller rooms, with people huddled around for co-creation of content.

All‑In‑One Desk Setup & Seamless Connectivity
But what I really like about the updated model is you can genuinely have one device on your desk for everything – screen, keyboard, mouse, extra monitor, phone charger, USB or Bluetooth headset – all connected through a single cable to your laptop. You can touch down your laptop and plug one cable in to get all your peripherals working! There’s also the option to connect to a second monitor, control your laptop via touch and use the device as your primary camera, microphone and speaker across any of your meeting platforms, Teams, Zoom or Cisco. For me, the ability to completely de‑clutter is what makes all the difference!

From My Workspace to Showcase

As I finish up testing the Desk Pro G2, I genuinely feel sad to lose it from my desk, but it needs to get out there, in front of clients and colleagues, so they too can appreciate the value it brings to everyday work. From today, you can see it for yourself in Natilik’s London Showcase in Devonshire Square.

So, if you fancy a quick tour or would like to try it yourself, we’d love to facilitate either hosting you in our living showcase or through a pilot. Check out our showcase and workshop to register your interest in a one-to-one catch-up or join our wider event on Wednesday, 25th February, where we’ll be showing and discussing some of Cisco’s recent announcements from ISE 2026 and Cisco Live, alongside our recent launch of Meeting Room as a Service (MRaaS).
